How Can I Support the ATWC?
The work of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children relies on our ability to access ongoing funding and donations. The client groups that we work with are some of the most disadvantaged families in Auckland and do not have the means to pay for the services that they receive. Often these are also the families that are doing ‘well enough’ not to come to the attention of government agencies such as Child Youth and Family, ACC and Special Education Services and therefore will not be able to access any other funded form of professional help and support for their family.
Some of the programs that we offer receive either partial or total government funding. However, our specialised treatment services such as the Granger Grove Residential Parenting Program, Child Psychotherapy and Counselling services, some parenting courses and the Pacific Island Services rely on donations, grants and fee-for-service payments to make them financially sustainable. Many of the families that require this specialised help are trying to break the cycles of family violence, poverty and neglect and are seeking a different type of life for their family and children.
On this page you can explore the options available to you to help us continue to support, counsel and up-skill the families that want and need our help. We welcome any form of support that you can offer.

Bequests
After you have looked after your family and those you care for, perhaps you might like to consider adding a bequest to the Anglican Trust for Women and Children (ATWC) who have been providing nurturing services for the greater Auckland community since 1858.
Making a legacy is a perfect way to help the ATWC carry on its valuable work through the years ahead and, you can be sure, whatever sum you are able to provide, itwill be so gratefully received.
We live in a changing, challenging and complex society. Once there were orphanages for unwanted children – but no more. These days, children remain in their family structure and our aim at the ATWC is to ensure that, through our support, one day they will grow into adults who are able to make a contribution to our society.
To re-build this trust and confidence in the future for both children, parents and/or caregivers, takes time and dedication which our staff at the ATWC are committed to providing. With your help we can make the future truly bright for those in our care.
What is a bequest?
A charitable bequest is a gift included in your will to your selected charity. The bequest can be a specific amount, a portion of your total estate or the residue of your estate after other commitments have been met.
How can I make a bequest to the Anglican Trust for Women and Children?
If you have an existing will and you wish to change it to include the trust you can add a codicil free of charge. Simply contact us for the correct wording. You can then contact the person who has your will and ask for the codicil to be added.
If you do not have a will, we recommend that you seek the advice of your solicitor, trustee company or the Public Trust Office.
They can help you prepare a will that correctly reflects your wishes. If you wish to leave a bequest to the Anglican Trust for Women and Children, please contact us and we will assist you with the wording.
