Residential Support Worker
Granger Grove
ATWC are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual to become part of a dynamic team to provide parenting skills and support for women and their children, whilst they complete a residential program.
You will be involved in the in the formulation, development and implementation of appropriate care plans and education programmes for each resident mother and her children.
The position is on a rotational basis and as such there will be an expectation for work on some weekends and some overnight sleeps. Experience of dealing with issues relating to our client group is essential.

Social Workers in Secoundary Schools
Tangaroa College, Otara, Auckland
The Anglican Trust for Women and Children is managing a contract for the Social Workers in Tangaroa College. The social worker will provide support to families and students who attend Tangaroa College.
Being based within a school and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team , provides the social worker with a significant opportunity to identify and address factors which put the students education outcomes at risk.
This position offers you the opportunity to put your learning and experience into action. The work will be intensive, challenging and rewarding.
The workload will be varied; you will be working with a mix of different families, in different situations. Each day you will be faced with the challenge of utilising your knowledge, skill and networks to produce the best outcome for families and students.
If you are passionate about adolescents and families, have the ability to establish and maintain positive relations, and have a social work qualification this could be the position for you. You will need to work well within a multi-disciplinary team as well as independently, have knowledge of Pacific Island, Maori cultures and have a can do attitude.
ATWC offers professional supervision and team support as well as training opportunities.

ATWC Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play an integral role in the mission of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children to empower individuals and families to improve their quality of life. Anglican Trust for Women and Children volunteers are people of all ages and backgrounds who share their interests, time, talents, and commitment to giving back to the community in which they live.
Each year volunteers give their time, knowledge and skills to support the work of the ATWC and enable it to achieve its vision and mission. This input from volunteers extends the support the Trust can make available.
We're always looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in helping us, we'd love to hear from you!

What is Volunteer Services?
Volunteers are vital to the work of the ATWC , This includes volunteers for Friends of ATWC. . Volunteering provides a wonderful opportunity to meet people, learn new skills, share existing skills, and have fun and give something back to your community.
What sort of people volunteer for the ATWC ?
ATWC volunteers are ordinary people who come from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups. They are interested in supporting the ATWCs aims and have a desire to support Families and Children to take charge of their own lives.
What do volunteers do?
Some of the many ways that volunteers can help members include:
- Helping with local fund raising projects
- Getting involved with the Friend of ATWC
- Assisting with recreation and social activities
- Assisting in the Rainbow Shop
How much time is required?
This depends on how much time the volunteer is able to give and the role they take on.

Current Opportunities

Rainbow Shop:
We are currently seeking energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to help at our Rainbow Shop located in K Rd. Volunteers are needed to sort, tag and organise donated items. Individuals and Groups are welcome. Minimum Age is 16. This is an excellent opportunity for teens who are required to complete volunteer hours for community service, school, scouts or religious activities. Also, it is a great environment for retired or senior citizens who want to help their community and support a good cause. All proceeds from shop sales benefit over 35 programs which help individuals and families throughout Auckland. Daytime, and weekend hours available.
