Granger Grove Family Learning Centre

A Comprehensive programme of residential family care which comprises of three stages.
Stage One:
Units “Supervised Parenting”
Mothers and Children are accommodated in two bedroom units with bathrooms. Units are linked to a communal building incorporating a dining room, kitchen, lounge and laundry area. Staff are available 24 hrs a day to offer guidance and help. Mothers attend daily classes whilst children are enrolled in our preschool.
Stage Two:
Self contained cottages “Independent Parenting”
This provides mothers an opportunity to consolidate new skills prior to moving back into the community. Mothers still attend our daily classes and are encouraged to engage in individual counselling and child psychotherapy.
Stage Three:
Outreach
Upon graduation of our residential programme, social workers provide ongoing support for mothers in the community. Mothers can also continue to participate in counselling and child therapy.
Preschool
Within the Granger Grove residential programme is a preschool that the children attend and their
mothers are encouraged to become involved in. It is located in the spacious, tranquil grounds of
ATWC.
Here the children are encouraged to explore a rich, stimulating and self choice environment. Opportunities are also provided for the mothers and their children to learn against a backdrop of positive encouragement, and warm and reciprocal relationships.
